LEARN THE FACTS

By educating ourselves about the warning signs in an adult, adolescent, or child with sexual behavior problems, we can prevent abuse before there is a victim to heal or an offender to punish. Learn about the warning signs or risk factors for perpetration and for victimization (see Prevent Child Sexual Abuse: Facts About Those Who Might Commit It )(pdf) or other Stop It Now! publications).

TALK ABOUT CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

Talk about it. Learn how to ask questions that get people discussing issues related to sexual abuse – including appropriate boundaries, risky behaviors, or the social influences that create an environment that sexualizes children. See "Let’s Talk: Adults Talking to Adults About Child Sexual Abuse." Child sexual abuse thrives in an atmosphere of silence and few families are comfortable talking about it.
